Editor's notes

These aluminum champagne buckets were used in the 50s and 60s, and typically were marked with the vintner's name.  We think they're great for chilling wine, for flowers, or for just about anything.  We think they're especially nice with a bottle of wine from your cellar as a hostess gift.

What is a champagne bucket

A champagne bucket, also known as a champagne cooler or champagne chiller, is a vessel specifically designed to hold and chill bottles of champagne or sparkling wine. It is a popular accessory used for special occasions, celebrations, or formal dining settings.

A typical champagne bucket is made of a durable material that can retain the cold temperature of the ice and water used for chilling. The design of a champagne bucket often features a wide, cylindrical shape with enough depth to accommodate a bottle of champagne along with ice. Some buckets may have handles for easy transportation, while others are designed with a more decorative and ornate style.

To use a champagne bucket, you typically fill it with ice and add water to create a cold environment. The bottle of champagne is then placed inside the bucket, allowing the ice and water to surround it and maintain a chilled temperature. This helps to keep the champagne at an ideal serving temperature and preserves its bubbly characteristics.
